AARP provides free tax preparation focusing on those individuals who are over 60 years of age. In addition, tax preparation services are provided to low income individuals, turning away no one who is in need. AARP is providing free tax preparation services at the Society's Van Elslander Family Center beginning February 2nd. Last year, AARP tax volunteers helped to prepare 96 Federal returns and 139 Michigan returns for those seeking assistance through SVdP. The free tax service will be available at 3000 Gratiot on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM through April 17th. Services will also be provided at our Utica thrift Store, 45550 Van Dyke, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on February 22, 29, and March 7th. Call 313-393-2930 to schedule an appointment.
