SVdP’s thrift stores in southeast Michigan support the Society's other charitable operations including emergency food centers, youth summer camps, and social services in the Van Elslander Family Center. The 12 retail thrift stores exist to give community members a chance to shop economically. Almost $500,000 in goods and services are given free to the needy. Remaining revenue pays staff and expenses, supports our Camps, Food Depots, Employment Office, Scholarships, and other programs. Computerized registers have been installed to help efficiency. Shopping our Thrift Stores helps to fund all of our charitable initiatives. From utility assistance to our summer camps, the values you'll find in our stores are a big part of how you "Help Us Help Others!"
