21st Annual Golf Classic, Dinner and Auction On June 18th supporters of the Society's Camp Ozanam joined together for a day of golf atr SVdP's 21st Annual Memorial Golf Classic at Forest Lake Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, MI. The successful event garnered participation from over 130 golfers and an additional 30 guests for "dinner only." The Society is especially thankful for the support of our Major Sponsors - Employees Only and Oakland MRI. The event raised over $80,000 to help children attend Camp Ozanam! Thanks to golf outing supporters, over 160 children will attend Camp Ozanam for one week!l
24th Annual Awards Banquet: Building Bridges Together On March 25th, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul honored long serving Vincentians, employees and the Chance for Life Organization with awards at the 24th Annual Banquet. The banquet was held at the San Marino Club in Troy, MI and was attended by over 200 guests. There was also a special performance from the Detroit Children's Choir. SVdP would like to thank our Event Sponsor - Mt. Elliott Cemetery Association and our Corporate Sponsor - Michigan Industrial Controls. For every "Like" between now and April 25th, Mt. Bundle Up Michigan Coat Drive St. Vincent de Paul would like to thank those businesses and organizations that participated in the 2011 Bundle Up Michigan Coat Drive: Office Express, First Catholic Credit Union, Accretive Solutions and Flame Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical - helped SVdP collect nearly 500 coats to help keep our neighbors in need warm this winter. 5th Annual More for the Poor Telethon This year's telethon raised nearly $135,000 for SVdP. This event is the largest combined fundraising and marketing effort for the Archdiocesan Council. The event could not have been possible without the support of nearly 120 volunteers throughout the day. Matchan Nutrition Center Celebrates 27 Years of Service The Matchan Nutrition Center celebrated 27 years by hosting its Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on the Auburn Hills campus of Baker College to honor those individuals and organizations who volunteer their time preparing the meals, those organizations which donate much needed food and to all financial donors who contribute funds which allow Matchan to “pay the bills”. Matchan Nutrition Center began serving our neighbors on May 14, 1984 operating out of the
4th Annual Friends of the Poor ® Walk St. Vincent de Paul - Detroit hosted its annual Friends of the Poor ® Walk through the Dequindre Cut Greenway on Saturday, September 24th. Nearly 300 Vincentians and members of the community walked in solidarity to raise money for St. Vincent de Paul Conferences. This years walk raised nearly $50,000! World Youth Day 2011 Anna Springer and Kelley Halberstadt had an amazing and inspiring experience in Madrid. Spending almost two weeks with young people from all over the world was truly eye-opening. They were able to speak and share meals with Vincentian Youth from over 27 countries and Catholic youth from all over the world- almost 2 million in total!
